What is The Heywood Plan?
The Heywood Plan is working with the local community to shape a long-term vision for the town from new investment and housing to jobs, green spaces, and better transport. It’s part of the Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods programme, which gives towns like Heywood the chance to create change locally with funding and decision-making powers driven by local people.
We’ve grouped our work into three core themes, helping focus on what matters most and ensuring every pound is spent where it will have real impact.

Stronger Communities
Heywood has heart. We’re building on that by investing in youth spaces, community hubs, events, and safe public areas. Our goal is to build a town where everyone feels welcome, safe and connected.
